Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Vodder style, is an additional modality Charlotte is certified to offer.

MLD utilizes hands in a pumping action on the body to help drain the bodies waste products. This gentle rhythmic pumping movements stimulate the lymphatic system without pressing hard on the vessels and helps move the skin and lymph in the direction of the lymph flow.

There are 500 to 700 lymph nodes in the human body that directly affect the body’s waste filtration system. The lymphatic system helps balance fluid levels in the body and protect the body against viruses and bacteria.

Benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage sessions:

  • Improves immune / lymph system flow
  • Allows the body to drain out toxins and waste products
  • Sheds extra fluid weight
  • Shortens surgical recovery time and minimizes scaring
  • Stimulate bone and blood regeneration
  • Helps relieve "pitty edema" and other inflammatory conditions

  • Lowers anxiety and stress
